Hearts for Loving, Hands for Learning

About Ms. Kate Wood

T-Th 2s, Teacher's Aide

Hello, my name is Kate Wood and I am so excited to work with your child and family.

I have a degree from Texas A&M University and spent many years in a rewarding corporate career. With the birth of my first little one, I chose to stay at home. Over the course of the next seven years, I discovered a deep passion for teaching and children. I have spent countless hours volunteering my time through children's programs in the Junior League (The Rise School, Kids in the Kitchen, etc..), teaching Vacation Bible School, coaching 1st and 2nd grade Destination Imagination teams (S.T.E.A.M. focused), teaching learn to row at the Dallas Rowers Club, and substituting for schools. I am excited to share in the process of acquiring my teaching certification and transferring my love into a full time career.

My time outside of school is filled with 2 amazing daughters. Henley is in the second grade and Evie is in Pre-K 4's here at Creative School! Additionally, we have an energetic, Goldendoodle puppy (Gracie) who keeps us on our toes.

Looking forward to a year filled with new friends, discoveries, and adventures. Cheers!

The Creative School is a non-profit school and a ministry of  Walnut Hill United Methodist Church. Educating children in north Dallas for over 50 years, we offer programs for children from 2 years of age through Prekindergarden 4s. We operate on a 9 month calendar, September – May.

Our morning preschool hours are 9 A.M.  – 12 noon with an optional extended program until 2 pm. We provide a secure and Christian environment that encourages children to learn and grow.

Our preschool curriculum is developmentally appropriate and addresses all areas of early childhood development including: literacy, math, science, art and fine motor. Enrichment classes include Music and Movement, Spanish, and Library. Our older children also attend a weekly chapel service.
