Creative School

Hearts for Loving, Hands for Learning

The Creative School is a non-profit school and a ministry of  Walnut Hill United Methodist Church. Educating children in north Dallas for over 50 years, we offer programs for children from 2 years of age through Kindergarten. We operate on a 9 month calendar, September – May.

Our morning preschool hours are 9 A.M.  – 12 noon with an optional extended program until 2 pm. Kindergarten is from 9 A.M. until 2 P.M..We provide a secure and Christian environment that encourages children to learn and grow.

Our preschool curriculum is developmentally appropriate and addresses all areas of early childhood development including: literacy, math, science, art and fine motor. Enrichment classes include Music and Movement, Spanish, and Library. Our older children also attend a weekly chapel service.

About Ms. Jill:

I came to Creative School as a parent first in 2001 then as a staff member in 2003.   I have worn many hats from librarian, aide, 3’s substitute, music teacher, leading chapel, lunch bunch teacher, steering committee member and I currently teach the five day four year old class.  Teaching preschool children is my passion!  I am drawn to our school community – the love, generosity, care and encouragement is like no other.

I have a BA degree from the University of Mississippi in communicative disorders/minor psychology. Post graduate coursework from UTD focusing on language acquisition and impairment in children.

As a Language Specialist I offer WordPlay as an enrichment program at Creative School to help children with language acquisition and phonological processes.

Denny and I married in 1987 and have 2 kids.   John and Georgia.  We have been active members in the Sparkman community for over 20 years.
