Creative School

Hearts for Loving, Hands for Learning

The Creative School is a non-profit school and a ministry of  Walnut Hill United Methodist Church. Educating children in north Dallas for over 50 years, we offer programs for children from 2 years of age through Kindergarten. We operate on a 9 month calendar, September – May.

Our morning preschool hours are 9 A.M.  – 12 noon with an optional extended program until 2 pm. Kindergarten is from 9 A.M. until 2 P.M..We provide a secure and Christian environment that encourages children to learn and grow.

Our preschool curriculum is developmentally appropriate and addresses all areas of early childhood development including: literacy, math, science, art and fine motor. Enrichment classes include Music and Movement, Spanish, and Library. Our older children also attend a weekly chapel service.

About Ms. Lesley:

Hello Creative School Parents,

My name is Lesley Jordan. I am the Kindergarten teacher here at the Creative School. I was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I went to Oklahoma State University where I majored in Family Relations and Early Childhood Development specializing in Early Childhood Education.

I moved to Texas in 1992 to teach ESL Kindergarten classes in Pleasant Grove. I gained certification in ESL and Elementary education and continued to teach Kindergarten and First Grade there for 10 years. In 2000 we were blessed with a beautiful son and by 2002 I decided to stay home and be a full time mom. I stayed at home for the next 7 years raising our 2 children while running a home sewing and design business.

My daughter started going to the Creative School when she was 3 in 2008. The next year, as she started her 4’s class, I was called upon to teach the 3’s class at the Creative School! I had missed my time in the classroom and couldn’t wait to jump back in! After teaching the 3’s class for 4 years, I had the opportunity to take over the Kindergarten class, my true passion!! I love Kindergarten!! This will be my 4th year teaching the Kindergarten class at Creative School. This is a wonderful school, I feel blessed to be a part of it!

I have an awesome, supportive family. My husband, Jeff, and I have been married 20 years. My 16 year old son, Jack, is a sophomore at Bishop Lynch High School. My 11 year old daughter, Emma, is a 6th grader at St. Monica School. We have a Schnauzer named Ginger and 3 chickens too. That completes our family!

I’m excited to meet the students this year! We are going to have a fantastic time! Everything you’ve ever needed to know in life, you learn in Kindergarten. Let’s make it a great year.

Thanks!

Lesley Jordan
