Creative School

Hearts for Loving, Hands for Learning

The Creative School is a non-profit school and a ministry of  Walnut Hill United Methodist Church. Educating children in north Dallas for over 50 years, we offer programs for children from 2 years of age through Prekindergarden 4s. We operate on a 9 month calendar, September – May.

Our morning preschool hours are 9 A.M.  – 12 noon with an optional extended program until 2 pm. We provide a secure and Christian environment that encourages children to learn and grow.

Our preschool curriculum is developmentally appropriate and addresses all areas of early childhood development including: literacy, math, science, art and fine motor. Enrichment classes include Music and Movement, Spanish, and Library. Our older children also attend a weekly chapel service.

About Ms. Carie:

My name is Carie Scott and I've been working with Creative School since 2015. I also direct extra-curricular activities and camps in the Dallas area focused around STEM, Spanish, Fine and Gross Motor Skills Coordination, Creative Writing, Yoga, and Culinary Arts.

I graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with majors in Journalism and Spanish. I am the owner of a boutique Marketing/PR company, and when time allows, also contract out as a freelance writer. Moreover, I am a devoted yoga practitioner of 20 years and have worked with hospitals, studios, sports teams, corporations, schools and private practices for 17 of those years.

My family moved to Dallas in 2007 from the Maryland/DC area. All three of my children attended Creative School and it holds amazing memories for us!

One of my greatest passions is teaching children and helping them develop new skill sets.
