Creative School

Hearts for Loving, Hands for Learning

The Creative School is a non-profit school and a ministry of  Walnut Hill United Methodist Church. Educating children in north Dallas for over 50 years, we offer programs for children from 2 years of age through Prekindergarden 4s. We operate on a 9 month calendar, September – May.

Our morning preschool hours are 9 A.M.  – 12 noon with an optional extended program until 2 pm. We provide a secure and Christian environment that encourages children to learn and grow.

Our preschool curriculum is developmentally appropriate and addresses all areas of early childhood development including: literacy, math, science, art and fine motor. Enrichment classes include Music and Movement, Spanish, and Library. Our older children also attend a weekly chapel service.

Carie Scott, Teacher's Aide

About Ms. Carie:

My name is Carie Scott. I've been at Creative School since 2015, starting as a substitute and then accepting a position as a Teacher's Aid and extra-curricular teacher for Spanish and Yoga.

We moved to Dallas in 2007 from Maryland.  All three of my children (ages 9, 10, and 12) attended our wonderful Creative School and it holds amazing memories for our family.

I graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with majors in Journalism and Spanish.  I work part-time as a freelance writer/marketing consultant.  Moreover, I am a yoga practitioner of 18 years and have taught yoga for 15 of those years.

One of my passions is teaching young children and watching them grow and learn.  I look forward to a great 2015-16 school year!
